Decluttering & Organising
When I first started out as a Professional Organiser, I conducted a survey* of small-business owners who had just learnt about that type of service, using the question, "What are the benefits of decluttering?" These were the responses:
  • A blessed feeling of peace...
  • Suddenly, more time
  • Fewer impulses to buy off-list
  • Be more relaxed & focussed
  • Feel more content, in control
  • Make life simpler, easier
  • Endless value...priceless...able to just get on with it, without stress being a factor.

Tutoring
My object in tutoring others on tailor-made courses is this: to locate, compile & relay the information needed for the client to learn what they need to know to accomplish or solve something. It's a reference librarian function, actually, but because it begins from a consultant standpoint, I interpret the information need more personally, and deliver it piece by piece in course form so that you can really understand, and apply it to your life.

Therefore, you should expect to:
  1. Receive quality information for your situation
  2. Have it arranged in a sequence that builds know-how
  3. Learn the information relatively painlessly :-)
  4. Practice it under friendly guidance, and
  5. Find it helpful when applied directly to your situation.
Tutoring on life skills or current knowledge is a rewarding activity. I liken it to the function of royal tutors in times past, who were charged with the task of preparing a person for a destined role -- it had the connotation of providing both tools & armour for the future, in a way that was tailored exactly to that person. I think there's a case for revival of such a function as the norm, in today's rapid tumble through schooling & ongoing professional development, but that's a rant for an article later.

Actual benefits

Here's how clients have since stated the benefits gained after taking my services:
Decluttering & Organising
  • A relief
  • Well worth it
  • Useful
  • Motivating
  • Thorough
  • Revitalising

Tutoring
  • Empowering
  • Fills knowledge gaps
The above key words are taken from feedback forms & personal conversations.
Will post some testimonials if and when I gain permissions.

Coaching
  • [To be compiled.]
This service is confidential and more private, so I am yet to obtain permissions for posting of feedback. I have been seriously impressed with the results clients have obtained. That's what keeps me going.

Assessment
From the test work done on my own dwellings, I can name a few gains off the top:
  • Been able to settle into new places better
  • Had better quality sleep
  • Helped other neighbours with their conflicts
  • Felt comfortable with less
  • Taken joy in playing with colour! (Plus other sensory enhancements.)

Kudos

Here, you'll see excerpts obtained from feedback forms, emails, texts & personal conversations, which I'll add as I go along -- mindful of the need for permissions. We'll start with decluttering & general-service kudos, and branch out to include Specialist Services & personal references. If you're looking for a particular benefit -- or a personal quality you'd like to see in a consultant, you can always ask, and if I've got any evidence of that, I'll post it ahead of the others. If I haven't, okay! It'll give me something to work toward.
